Malleefowl Monarto have released dates for their 2012 malleefowl surveys. Volunteers are sought for April 14-15, May 5-6, May 26-27. Malleefowl food plants will be available on the weekend of June 2-3.

The ERD Court challenge to the building of a 100 unit retirement village has been heard and lost. The vegetated part of the reserve will be retained thanks to the efforts of many volunteers.

A management plan for the development and running of Meldanda is taking shape. A wide range of stakeholders is engaged in the writing of the plan. Congratulations to Ross Elliker for winning Mannum's Citizen of the Year for 2012.
